Dome not going to be ready

If the entire roof of the Metrodome needs to be replaced, it may not be finished in time for the start of the Vikings exhibition season in August.
Ted Mondale, the newly appoined head of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, said after Thursday morning's commission meeting that weather has delayed evaluation of whether part or all of the fallen roof needs to be replaced.
"If we need complete replacement of the roof, it will take five to six months,'' Mondale said.

Mafia in Northeast

More than 120 organized crime associates face charges including murder, extortion and narcotics trafficking in one of the largest Mafia crackdowns in FBI history, prosecutors announced Thursday.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said at a news conference Thursday in New York City that the 127 defendants include high-ranking members of the Gambino and Colombo crime families and the reputed former boss of organized crime in New England. All five of New York's five major crime families were targeted.

I'm glad we finally have an administration that allows its Attorney General to seek out and prosecute organized crime syndicates rather than turn a blind eye to it. The DOJ should be more focused on this than spending resources on street corner crack dealers or pot users.

Fire at Mystic lake

A fire at a construction area at Mystic Lake Casino is burning but under control, Mdewankaton Sioux tribal officials said.
The fire broke out at about 9:30 a.m. in an area of the Shakopee casino that's under construction, a tribal official said. A worker was cutting steel when a spark flew up into the foam insulation.

No rust on the Wild

Like a roller coaster, the Wild is back on the up climb. Win three. Lose three of four. Win four. Lose three. That's been the pattern for a month.

Great game Wild. Everyone played well, especially Backstrom. Compared to last year the players look more focused. Clutterbuck is scoring. Havlat is who we thought we were getting. Having Bouchard back has been a big boost to the offense. The most improved might be Brodziak who is really taking charge on the forecheck and playing great two-way hockey.

American Idol is nicer

Television's top show returned Wednesday with a makeover for its 10th season on Fox. Cowell, everyone's favorite villain, is gone as a judge. So are Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres, replaced with the star power of Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. Original judge Randy Jackson remains.
The first, two-hour episode accentuated the positive, an indication that producers are setting a different tone.

Jobs will pick up but slow

11 consecutive months of job gains, but people are so discouraged by not getting jobs is at an all time high in the past years. Supposedly it is recovering but the pace of rocovering is hardly keeping up with population growth, and planned job cuts are down 60 percent from a year ago. Only 65 percent overall were either employed or looking to be employed witch witch is the lowest in about thirty years.

Men are less willing to get a job back according to this ardicle, but the reasons for that are probably because the market for male workers out there is going way down. The job market is very slim right now and they say that it will go up in 2011 but who really knows whats going to happen. They may say its going to rise but who really knows whats going to happen. at 2.5 percent growth a year who really is going to want to look for a new job its very dissapointing.

School bans safe sex kits

New Hampshire schools ban people from selling these safe sex kits with flavored condoms, they think its encouraging people to have sex, but its safe sex so what are they complaining about? They think that banning these products are going to slow down sexual interactions but kids are just going to keep on doing it even if they dont have these kits. Kids can go buy condoms at a local store anytime they want so there isn't reallly a point in banning it. Its just kids trying to make money.
